The plurality of worlds, psychologically

The plurality of worlds, psychologically, refers to the plurality of perspectives that determine our subjectivity, the many eyes that see through ours. For it is not that there are many distinctly different worlds, each ruled by one god; rather, as Kerényi often insisted, there is one and the same world that we partake in but always and only through the cosmos of one or another leading imaginal figure in a particular constellation or mytheme. These are the divine backgrounds to what existential humanism from Nietzsche onward, calls “perspectives.” These figures shape our so-called real worlds in the images of this hero, that angel, anima, daimon, or god.
